Suction heads for mini dredger (classic)

An important element of any dredger is a suction nozzle.

The suction head is the fifth element of the mini dredger. Without it, the mini dredger is inoperable.

The suction head performs important functions:

1. Filtration

Delays coarse fractions exceeding the size of the flow area of the impeller. The absence of a filter leads to clogging of the pump and destruction of both the impeller and the pump casing in the case of stones or other objects (trimming fittings)

2. Destruction of bottom soil.

Splits bottom sediments mechanically and hydraulically.

3. Pulp preparation

In the head there is a mixing of the soil mixture and the final destruction of adherent particles of bottom sediments.

The working mode of the pump largely depends on the shape of the suction head.
Structurally, the head is designed as a replaceable tool, which is selected for each particular case.

In particular, the division takes place in the following main categories:

• For large stones
• For durable soils requiring prior loosening
• For cleaning from vegetation and debris
• For the extraction and laying of sands

Accordingly, all these conditions are made specialized suckers. The main characteristics of suckers are:

• size and type of connecting element: camlock, “ruff” connections or flange connection
• the dimensions of the protective grid, the shape of the holes and their flow area
• the presence of cutters, hydrolayers, ejectors and other auxiliary elements
